Pure nature for our Alpine natural cosmetics

Our products embody pure nature. We use only renewable raw materials.
Whenever possible, we source them from the local region.

Pure nature

Our products are pure nature. We use only renewable raw materials and avoid preservatives, fragrances, dyes, surfactants, or emulsifiers. We work without parabens, paraffins, microplastics, or palm oil. Whenever possible, we source our raw materials locally.

Since the beginning of time, humans have used herbs in herbal medicine for their active ingredients to strengthen health and heal physical and mental ailments. Knowledge about the power of herbs and medicinal plants fills entire libraries. Even if there isn't a cure for every illness, the healing methods practiced for millennia have proven their worth alongside modern medicine. While in the past, people relied exclusively on traditional knowledge and experience with medicinal plants, their effectiveness is now scientifically proven.

Natural and herbal medicine has gained significant importance in recent years. Growing health awareness and self-determination in treatment methods have helped medicinal herbs flourish in medicine and cosmetics.

Plants in cosmetics

Plants and their extracts, oils , and fragrances play an essential role in natural cosmetics. For our natural products, we seek out the right components from nature and develop high-quality recipes. Each blend is unique. They naturally promote your well-being and vitality and are beneficial to your skin and body. The list of natural raw materials used is endless, which is why we present only the most important ones on this page.

Nature gives us everything we need. This ensures that everything we make is 100% natural. Whenever possible, we use local raw materials with short transport routes.

Plants in our products

We use our own extracts from the leaves of the mountain houseleek. The plants, which we plant and cultivate in allotments in the Frutig Valley, are incredibly undemanding and vibrant. With their fleshy, water-retaining leaves, they are perfectly adapted to the weather conditions (such as extreme drought) in the mountains. Their effect on human skin is similar to that of other succulents (such as aloe vera): Mountain houseleek protects the skin from dehydration and provides moisture. You can find mountain houseleek in our hand and foot balm, in the hemp Chnübi, and in our lip balm, among other products.

Mallow has wound-healing, skin-soothing, and irritation-relieving properties, and is especially suitable for dry and sensitive skin. We produce our own mallow extract from the flowers and leaves. It's ideal for our regenerating Vogellisi balm.

Fats and oils in our products

Our chamois fat comes exclusively from Swiss hunting. It has a very firm consistency and is best processed when combined with valuable oils. Chamois fat deeply nourishes and cares for the skin. Dry areas such as heels and elbows become smooth and supple again.

We use cold-pressed rapeseed oil from Lucerne, sourced from certified organic farming. It contains high levels of vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as valuable omega-3 fatty acids. Thanks to its moisturizing and replenishing properties, rapeseed oil is used in almost all of our Alpine natural cosmetics.

Grapeseed oil is rich in vitamins. Thanks to its polyphenol content, it works particularly well against free radicals. It is highly nourishing, replenishing, and helps strengthen skin tissue. As an anti-aging oil, it is recommended for both mature skin and young, problematic skin. These valuable properties are especially effective in our hand balm, foot balm, Hanf Chnübi, and lip care.

Locally sourced wheat germ oil offers a high content of vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids. It protects mature and stressed skin from drying out and promotes regeneration. Ideal for delaying the aging process and the formation of calluses. It keeps connective tissue healthy and is highly effective for scar care. Wheat germ oil is used in nearly all of our care products.

Marmot oil is extracted from marmot fat, which comes exclusively from Swiss hunting. This fat is processed with heat and remains in liquid form up to a certain temperature. Marmot fat contains small amounts of naturally occurring substances related to cortisone. The people of the Alps recognized its effects long ago, and for over 500 years, marmot fat has been a trusted remedy in Alpine folk medicine. For 30 years now, this natural raw material has proven itself in our balms and oils.

Locally produced hemp oil contains a high concentration of valuable omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties. Our hemp products come from the Lucerne hinterland and the canton of Graubünden. As the name suggests, you’ll find this precious raw material in our Hemp Chnübi.

Wax and resins in our products

For our Alpine cosmetics, we use fir resin from wild collection in the Frutigen Valley. Fir resin has antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant properties, and binds free radicals. Its wound-healing, circulation-promoting, and astringent properties are well known. It is used for cuts, skin abrasions, "sprouts," rough and chapped skin, chapped skin, and skin irritations.
We use fir resin in our foot balm and in the hemp Chnübi.

Our beeswax comes from honeybees in the Bernese Oberland. Natural and unbleached, this wax retains its beautiful yellow color and pleasant, warm honey scent. It is very kind to skin and serves as a natural thickener and preservative in our hand balm, foot balm, Hemp Chnübi, and lip balm. Beeswax adds shine and suppleness to our Alpine natural cosmetics products.

Honey is a tried and tested household remedy and has become an indispensable part of the cosmetics industry.
The valuable ingredients in honey act as a natural moisturizer, promoting skin cell regeneration and thus lending elasticity. We use this high-quality raw material in our Vogellisi balm and Bärgmüntschi.

Propolis is a resinous substance produced by bees to seal and disinfect the cracks in their nests. It acts as a resinous cement. This property can be used in cosmetics to heal cracked and dry skin. The propolis for our Hemp Chnübi comes from honey bees in the Bernese Oberland.
