👉 Our marmot herbal ointments now have a new design. 👈
New design - same quality
Since 1992, we have been producing our Murmeli herbal ointments using a proven formula—and we’re sticking to it. The blend of pure Murmeli oil, chamois fat, olive oil, deer fat, and potent herbs provides soothing relief for your muscles, back, neck, and joints.
What has proven itself for over 30 years won’t be changed.
THE MURMELI HERBAL OINTMENT REMAINS UNCHANGED DESPITE THE NEW DESIGN.

What remains?
Red and blue
You can still recognize your Murmeli Herbal Ointment by its color. The red lid for the warming version and the blue lid for the cooling version remain unchanged.
The formula, the quality, our values, our dedication, and our passion also remain exactly the same.

Why a new design
Never change a running system.
That’s something we’ve heard many times. And yet, we’ve changed our design at least four times over the past 30 years. So why do it again?
We believe that change is necessary.
There are few products that look the same for decades and still function—or even exist—today. Time moves on, and so do our customers.
Clearer
The new design is easier to read and quicker for the eye to grasp.
More legible
The text is now straight rather than curved, making it easier to read—especially for older individuals.
Purpose at a glance
The intended use of each ointment is now clearer at first glance. For example, the warming ointment clearly states:
"Warms back, muscles, and joints" —in straight, readable text.
No more reverse type
White text on a black background (reverse type) is harder to read, particularly for older people or those with visual impairments. We’ve done away with that.
Matches the rest of the product line
Our range has grown in recent years. In addition to the Murmeli Herbal Ointment, we now offer natural cosmetics for hand, foot, and lip care—even a deodorant cream.
These new products all follow a unified design. The Murmeli Herbal Ointments no longer quite fit that visual identity—until now.
Why only now?
The Murmeli Herbal Ointments are our oldest and best-selling natural products.
In fact, they should have been the first in line for a design update—everything else was supposed to follow. But then COVID threw a wrench into our plans. Just before the outbreak, the lockdowns, and travel restrictions, we had built up a particularly large stock of ointment tins.
After that, unfortunately, demand didn’t meet our expectations. For us, discarding those tins was never an option. So we had no choice but to wait until the stock was used up.
The transition
There Will Be “Transitional Designs”
We won’t dispose of a single one of our old tins—that’s simply not an option for us.
We have four types of tins for our Murmeli Herbal Ointment: Warming and cooling, in 50ml and 100ml sizes. Naturally, not all four variants will run out at the same time.
That’s why there will be “transitional designs.”
This means you may come across tins that have the new lid design but still feature black print on the side.
That’s because we are placing the new design on top of the old lids, while continuing to use up all the old tins.
To us, it’s important that all lids are updated at the same time and look uniform, as the lid is the most important part of the design and key to the recognizability of our products.
Funny story
With every change we make, we receive feedback from customers and sales partners.
Some were initially very unhappy with the new design or the updated tins.
But almost without exception, after just a few weeks or months, they became just as convinced as we are.
Even when asked, none of them wanted to go back to the old design or tins.
We often heard things like:
“It’s selling better now,” “The tin is more practical,” or “I actually like the new tin better now.”
The truth is likely this: We simply need time to get used to change. Once it becomes familiar, it feels normal—and in hindsight, it’s hard to imagine going back to how things were. 😊
